Debug Focus is a website I made because I a lot  of random tech and impulse purchases and often have very strong opinions on them, however I don't always want to flood my youtube channels with reviews of everything that comes through my door, or sometimes I want to go more in-depth with a product without making a 30 minute long video that will cause viewer retention to drop, whatever the case, I have this site now! Photography: The Canon EOS R8 - Great for canon shooters

Last year I upgraded from my trusty Canon 200D to a brand new mirrorless Canon EOS R8. I had wanted to upgrade my 200D for a good couple of years at this point however nothing seemed like it was a good value upgrade. Along came the Canon R8 Which i purchased and used for both Client work and personal projects. This camera is phenomenal in a vacuum and for canon DSLR users looking to upgrade its the one i recommend hands down. But if you haven't a system, or you're not particularly deep in the Canon ecosystem, There are a few considerations.

My Top Oculus Quest 2 Accessories

The Oculus Quest 2 is an amazing little powerhouse of a VR headset, capable of stuff that would be considered a miracle 6 years ago, and for an affordable price, however the headset isn't without it flaws, this list of accessories helps to aid those looking to remedy some or all of the Quest 2's shortcomings to get the best and most comfortable experience out of their headset. MYJK Custom Sound-kit For Oculus Quest 2 ($65aud) The audio on the quest 2 while fine, lacks allot, MYJK make great off-ear headphones that clip over the quest 2 elite strap using a custom 3D printed bracket, these headphones make the quest 2 sound much better and improve overall immersion AMVR Noise Isolating Quest 2 Earbuds ($30aud) the AMVR earbuds come in at less than half the price of the MYJK audio solution and are universally compatible (for those who dont use an elite strap) the soundstage on the earbuds is a little more closed in (less positional audio) due to the nature of earbuds bu...

My Top 10 Oculus Quest Games (As of Jan 2022)

The Oculus Quest 2 has a vast library of games, at various price-points, and while interests are mostly preference i'm going to be listing my top 10 games for the Oculus Quest 2 to hopefully help new users in the direction of a new game or two, this isnt in a specific order 10. Hand Physics Lab (A$14.99) HPL is a pretty standard puzzle game with a vast amount of levels, the game is quite simple both gameplay wise and graphically and lacks a story or anything for that matter, however what HPL does is showcase the Quest's built-in hand and finger tracking, and for that reason alone it makes a great party game, shove your headset on your nan, cast to the TV and watch, its a fun half an hour or so that i think makes it worth the price if your looking for something fun for the whole family 9. Superhot VR (A$38.99) Superhot VR is a unique experience, it follows the same principal as the flat screen game, time moves when you move, to play you have to duck and weave in and out of bull...

The Oculus Quest 2: 1 Year Later

It has been a year since the Oculus Quest 2 hit the market with its amazing features and competitive pricing and even 12 months later, no company can come close too, and while some consumers are not particularly a fan of Oculus following their acquisition by facebook some years back its undeniable what the Quest 2 did for VR as a whole. In one year it became the top PCVR Headset on Steam's hardware survey, and perhaps most importantly, opened VR up to a much wider audience, gone are the days of spending $1,000 on some crappy 72hz flyscreen door panel that still requires a $5,000 computer minimum, the $299 Oculus Quest 2 offers a 1832x1920 per-eye LCD display with a refresh rate of 120hz with an FOV of about 90° this allows first-time VR users to jump into one of the highest quality consumer VR headsets on market, and allows users of the lackluster PSVR and oculus rift/rift S to get a nice upgrade. Things I Like Price: its a great price for anyone especially considering it is still...

The Gaomon M10K Pro: Wacom Should be Scared

The M10K pro is an almost perfect drawing tablet and at half the price of the main competitor it really stands out, its got 10 express keys which can be mapped to any button you would like and a touch sensitive wheel and a full 10 inch x 6.25 inch active drawing area, ive compared this to my old drawing tablet in one of the photos, this fits with 16:10 displays perfectly but can be suited to 16:9 if scaling is set in the driver, the M10K pro works well with krita, medibang, firealpaca, photoshop and pencil2d and is definitely worth buying if your getting into digital art, you can watch my full unboxing and review on my youtube channel here:

New Video: Gaomon S620 Unboxing and First Impressions

The Gaomon S620 is a budget oriented graphics tablet, you can watch the unboxing and first impressions here:

Wired: RTX 3060, budget bros; get this one

in july of 2016 Nvidia released possibly their most important GTX card, the GTX 1060, this card for years was popular amongst budget gamers, offering great performance in games at a much more palatable price than the GTX 1080 or the GTX 1070, Nvidia's GTX 1060 for years after its released remained the most popular graphics card according to steam's hardware survey, even as of today over 9% of steam users still use the GTX 1060, despite Nvidia trying to recreate their breakthrough, because to be quite frank, the budget market is the most important, in the top 10 steam graphics cards, not one xx80 card is visible, the most expensive card in the top 10 is the 2070 super, which still only holds 2% of steam's userbase nvidia tried (and failed) with the 2060, a card offering RTX support, but the only RTX specific features it could handle on decent settings was RTX voice and Nvidia broadcast, the 1660 (and 1660 super/ti) at MSRP the 1660 cards are complete rip-offs, even before cr...

Trial By Fire: Securing An RTX 3060

Firstly I want to preface by stating that I don't have the card on hand right now, i will be posting both a first impressions and a review once I get the card on hand, i'm mostly going to be talking about the journey it has been to even secure the card.  My troubles with GPUs started wayy before nvidia's new ampere cards were "a thing" in early 2020 i was depending on a friend's 1060 3GB and while it was fine it was severely bottlenecking my system with most games requiring 4GB of vram to run on anything more than low texture quality, initially i had my sights set on a 2070 super as thats what my friends had, but since everyone else decided to build PCs the price of 20xx cards increased, by the time i had enough money all i could afford was an open box 1660, the MSI gaming X 1660 to be exact, as talks of new cards started happening i decided to try and get a 2070 again seeing as under normal circumstances the prices of soon-to-be outdated cards would drop sign...

Accessorize: Oculus Quest 2 Elite Strap

If you've been in the loop with VR or more specifically the quest 2, or if you've owned a quest 2 yourself then you are probably aware of one of its biggest flaws, in my first impressions with the device I showcase how you can DIY a better headstrap with a pair of headphones, however that gets a bit cumbersome and doesn't keep the headstrap from getting dirty, recently i opted for the quest 2 elite strap and I have mixed feelings with it. The Pros the HMD is definitely allot more comfortable now for long periods of time and sits well on my face, there is allot more adjustability and the elite strap is less prone to getting dirty The Cons the elite strap can cause the facial interface to leave an imprint after long periods of time and sweat builds up allot more Conclusion the elite strap is definitely worth it although I would recommend purchasing it alongside a new interface by the likes of VRCover and such
