My Top Oculus Quest 2 Accessories

The Oculus Quest 2 is an amazing little powerhouse of a VR headset, capable of stuff that would be considered a miracle 6 years ago, and for an affordable price, however the headset isn't without it flaws, this list of accessories helps to aid those looking to remedy some or all of the Quest 2's shortcomings to get the best and most comfortable experience out of their headset.

MYJK Custom Sound-kit For Oculus Quest 2 ($65aud)

The audio on the quest 2 while fine, lacks allot, MYJK make great off-ear headphones that clip over the quest 2 elite strap using a custom 3D printed bracket, these headphones make the quest 2 sound much better and improve overall immersion

AMVR Noise Isolating Quest 2 Earbuds ($30aud)

the AMVR earbuds come in at less than half the price of the MYJK audio solution and are universally compatible (for those who dont use an elite strap) the soundstage on the earbuds is a little more closed in (less positional audio) due to the nature of earbuds but serves as a great option for VR creators who dont want audio looping back into the mic

Tenavolts Rechargeable AA ($50aud)

Tenavolts makes by far the best rechargeable batteries, they are not overpriced, the charging cradle is USB powered, the batteries last wayy longer than typical brand name rechargeables, what more do you need? the pack comes with 4, the batteries last for months in the quest 2's controllers

Cable Creation Kit Active USB 3.0 Extender 16.4ft ($30aud)

Cable creation kit make excellent link cable alternatives for way less money than the official link cable provided by oculus, ive been using mine for months

Esimen Touch Controller Grip Cover for Oculus Quest 2 ($20aud)

One of the cheapest items on the list, this is a great way (and the cheapest) to get valve index style controller straps on the quest 2, the grips themselves are decent quality however the lack of battery door access (like that of more expensive grips) make it kind of annoying to change the batteries however if paired with the Tenavolts you should only really be swapping them out a couple times a year, i prefer these over other cheap knuckle straps as they dont have a cover for the sensor ring (which hinders the quest 2's controller tracking in my experience)

VRCover/Any Facial Interface (free-$40aud)

The facial interface on the quest 2 is a sweat sponge and is known to cause rashes in some cases, early model quest 2 owners (64GB and some 256GB models) can order a free silicone cover from Oculus (they USED to give free VRCover kits but have stopped that a few months ago) if you have one of these affected Quest 2's you'll get a free one in the mail, if you have a newer one, check your quest 2 box, it should have came with it anyway, otherwise you can pick up the VRCover kit for about $40aud

Antlion Audio ModMic Wireless ($180aud)

The antlion Modmic wireless is the best microphone for the quest 2 (aside from mounting a condenser mic from the headset) it provides much better sound quality and the wireless has basically no latency, 2 polar pattern modes depending on your environment and a 12 hour battery, it is a by far must-have for ANY VR content creator, whether you use a Quest 2, Valve Index, Vive cosmos elite, Varjo Aero, etc. the built in mic on the quest 2 is fine if your just making a VR tiktok or streaming VR content, but if your making long-form VR Videos on youtube or some other platform that prioritises quality it is a by far must have, more important than an elite strap, more important than a new facial interface or speakers

Boya by-M1 Lav mic

Boya make a pretty good Lav mic that has the potential to be the best Quest 2 mic for the budget conscious, its however held back by its use of a 3.5mm aux jack, which is no fault on its own, but requires you to have a phone or mac computer as windows uses the god awful realtek audio drivers which just make any and all 3.5mm mics sound like complete hissing garbage, aside from that its a pretty decent mic that i used for awhile before getting the modmic wireless

Photography: The Canon EOS R8 - Great for canon shooters

Last year I upgraded from my trusty Canon 200D to a brand new mirrorless Canon EOS R8. I had wanted to upgrade my 200D for a good couple of years at this point however nothing seemed like it was a good value upgrade. Along came the Canon R8 Which i purchased and used for both Client work and personal projects. This camera is phenomenal in a vacuum and for canon DSLR users looking to upgrade its the one i recommend hands down. But if you haven't a system, or you're not particularly deep in the Canon ecosystem, There are a few considerations.
